Depression And The Demartini Method


Today, I have come across a video at youtube, Demartini method, a man talking about many methods to defeat people's daily problems, depression, social problems ,family, financial problems, etc. Most of you should have heard about him, he is a well -known speaker, author, educator.

One thing I realised is that he really is a good speaker and seems really realistic and positive while speaking.You can understand this while you are listening to him, because he has different types of solutions for every problems we face in our daily lives. And the subjects he talks about are really applicable so that many people around the world are buying his books and cd's to improve themselves, I really appreciate his effort.

The noteworthy point I realised about the video I watched today is that, he does not explain the depression as an "illness" but the stage of the cure. This relly fascinated me. I also heard about this from many pscyhiatrists on tv , but they weren't so much volunteer to explain this finding and they weren't so convincing as Mr. Demartini. Maybe the thing i not to say only but to claim and to further it with spreading it to many people to be able to be helpful.

He visits many countries to tell his methods, aiming to educate people about coping with their problems, maybe to be a sign of hope. Anyway, I will talk about the video I watched today, that is an applicable style of changing negative behaviour. What he tells there is that the depression is something we create with our unrealistic thoughts about our lives. Maybe a financial problem, maybe our failure at our school, a failure at our jobs , at our private lives. The people with depression has fantasies about their lives so when they are not able to reach that fantasies they are upset , down and feel depressed.

What he suggests about depression is that to think about the "drawbacks" of our fantasies, and think about the "now"; what we have in our hand. And according to his method,we should stop and think the "now", if we are able to neutralise the drawbacks of the fantasy part and define the benefits of your lives and balance them at the "0" level, then the depression is cured. Some people define this method as another version of understanding the thanksgiving , but it should be accepted that it is a different way of a cure other than medicines and the supplements.

And again according to him, we can challange our unrealistic expectations and break our habits doing this exercise. Do not forget, the point is to balance the drawbacks and the benefits!
